The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) has announced new internationalisation opportunities for local small and medium-sized enterprises seeking to expand their operations into the Chinese market.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to support ambitious local SMEs with their global growth strategies through partnerships with the EU SME Centre.
One of the primary highlights is the 2026 SME Business Mission to China, which is scheduled to take place from April 13, 2026, to April 18, 2026.
This mission will focus on two major economic hubs, namely Haikou and Shenzhen, providing a platform for European firms to showcase their brands.
Participating companies will have the chance to present their products at the China International Consumer Products Expo, also known as the Hainan Expo.
In addition to the exhibition, the programme includes market briefings and dedicated B2B meetings designed to foster direct commercial links.
“The EU SME Centre is organising a business mission to China, offering selected European SMEs the opportunity to present their products at the China International Consumer Products Expo, as well as participate in market briefings and B2B meetings,” the EU SME Centre stated regarding the upcoming delegation.
For those unable to travel, the chamber noted that the centre has also released its “Understanding China” webinar series to provide digital training and market intelligence.
The series covers critical areas of interest, including EU–China relations and the current economic outlook for the region.
Businesses can also gain insights into risk management and the complexities of navigating China’s evolving regulatory landscape.
Other sessions focus on the green transition and digital security, which are becoming increasingly important for European exporters.
The webinars also examine evolving consumer trends, helping firms tailor their products to the specific demands of Chinese buyers.
“The EU SME Centre has made the ‘Understanding China’ webinar series available for streaming, offering European SMEs valuable insights into the Chinese market,” Keve confirmed in its communication to members.
The chamber has invited all interested parties to register their interest or access the streaming content via its official portal.
