The Cypriot national basketball team will face World and European champion Germany in their second qualifying match for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 on Monday.

The match take place at the Spyros Kyprianou Sports Centre at 7pm, it is the Cypriot teams’ first home match a World Cup qualifier.

Head coach Christophoros Livadiotis’ said his team was determined to present a competitive image against the giants of European basketball, “to the extent possible.”

There will be special buses provided free of charge to transport children to and from the stadium from all city clubs outside Limassol.
The first 400 children under 14 years old who arrive at the stadium early will receive gifts including 300 basketballs and merchandise from EuroBasket 2025.

In its first match in the World Cup qualifiers, the Cypriot team was defeated by Croatia in Osijek on Friday 100-60.
