An awareness-raising event for men’s health, organised by the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre on November 27, 2025, saw the highest participation in recent years. Accompanied by the musical sounds of the band Anaren Bourek, employees, friends and supporters of the Centre participated in the event, which was held as part of Men’s Cancer Awareness Month.
In a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere with music and refreshments, the medical team informed those present about the importance of preventive screening. Those who wished to participate also took part in a symbolic shaving, which was kindly provided by Giorgos Achilleos and Specchio Hair Art. The aim of the event was to raise awareness about preventive screening and sensitise men of all ages.

“Prevention is not a theoretical concept; it is an act that saves lives,” said the Director of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, Panos Ergatoudis. “Every man should be aware of the basic checks he needs and have them done without delay. Today’s turnout shows that when information is provided in a direct and humane manner, people respond.”
He also noted that the goal of the Oncology Centre is “to create an environment where men feel more comfortable talking about their health”, and added: “the more you know, the easier it is to protect yourself and those who care about you”.
The Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre will continue its information and awareness-raising activities, with the aim of early diagnosis and better care for all.
