The met office has issued a yellow warning for isolated but severe storms in effect from 11pm Monday until 9am on Tuesday.

Isolated strong storms are expected to affect the island, initially mainly on the western and southern coasts and spreading through other areas.

Hail is expected to fall and winds will be strong. Rainfall could be as high as 35 millimetres per hour.
