The recent ‘Under the Lights of Love’ anniversary dinner held at the Landmark Nicosia marked the culmination of an initiative that began over the Christmas period. Lidl Cyprus covered nearly all the event’s expenses, ensuring the €42,900 proceeds from ticket sales went to supporting the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society.

The event’s success came on the heels of the major Christmas drive through Lidl Plus, where the company turned customer loyalty into an act of tangible solidarity. The campaign saw 278,265 scans clocked, amassing €83,479.50. And in a further move, Lidl Cyprus raised its grant to the Anti-Cancer Society, handing over €100,000 to the non-profit organisation.

All the funds will go towards Society’s Catering and Room Adoption Programmes at the Arodafnousa Palliative Care Centre — the first and only centre in Cyprus offering integrated inpatient palliative care services to cancer patients.

An alliance for life: 12 years of substantive contribution

Lidl Cyprus fully covers the Catering Programme, ensuring patients have quality nutrition, while also undertaking in full the operating expenses for two rooms as part of the Room Adoption Programme. Additionally, the company has provided support to patients’ families, by funding and equipping a dedicated relaxation space, offering dignity to those standing beside loved ones during their hardship.
