A 58-year-old woman was injured in a traffic accident on Monday shortly after 7am on the highway near Yeroskipou, while travelling towards Paphos, police said.

According to police, the vehicle she was driving skidded and overturned. The circumstances of the accident are under investigation.

An ambulance and fire brigade were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance and extricate the driver if necessary.

The woman was taken to the accident and emergency department at Paphos general hospital, where doctors said she had sustained minor injuries. She was admitted for further treatment and observation.

Paphos traffic police attended the scene and are continuing investigations to determine the exact causes and conditions of the crash.
