The Christodoula March, the largest and most widely recognised cancer awareness and support campaign in Cyprus, continues for its 51st year, bringing society together around the values of solidarity, contribution and human connection.

It has become an enduring institution of social participation, highlighting the importance of supporting every fellow citizen affected by cancer, with respect for dignity and quality of life.

The Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society and the Bank of Cyprus call upon the public to “be there”, actively supporting this significant moment of collective contribution.

The Christodoula March 2026 will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 3.30pm simultaneously in all cities across Cyprus, enabling everyone to take part and express their solidarity.

At the same time, the entire month of April is dedicated to the work of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, with voluntary fundraising campaigns and activities taking place nationwide. Fundraising efforts will commence with the Street Collection on April 2, while additional collections, initiatives and awareness activities will be carried out throughout the month.

The “Be There” campaign across all mass media and social media channels is once again being undertaken by the Bank of Cyprus, a steadfast partner of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society for 28 consecutive years. The Bank continues to stand firmly alongside the Society, offering meaningful and dynamic support to all its initiatives.

The “antamivi” Card Reward Scheme is also once again participating in the campaign, as for every transaction made with participating businesses, the Bank of Cyprus will donate €0.05 to the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, from March 26, 2026 to April 5, 2026.

Furthermore, the Bank is again offering the option of making donations through QuickPay Care, its new 1bank service, enabling easy and immediate contributions by scanning a dedicated QR code via mobile phone. In addition, on April 4 and 5, at the ground floor of Nicosia Mall, the Bank will organise a charitable event for children, featuring activities and gifts, with all proceeds from participation contributions supporting the work of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society.

Proceeds from the March and the April initiatives contribute significantly to the continuation and enhancement of the services provided by the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, which include:

  • patient care at the “Arodafnousa” Palliative Care Centre
  • a nationwide home medical and nursing care service
  • psychological and social support services
  • as well as prevention and awareness initiatives

In remarks delivered during the press conference, the President of the Board of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, Alekos Stamatis, underlined the importance of collective participation, noting that the essence of the March lies in presence, support and solidarity towards every individual in need.

“The Christodoula March serves as a powerful reminder that, through unity and contribution, society can stand alongside those who need it, with respect, care and humanity,” he said.

Dr Charis Pouangare, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Director of Business Operations at the Bank of Cyprus, emphasised that, since 1998, the year in which the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre began operating, the Bank has stood by the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society and all those experiencing cancer. He called on the public to contribute, as well as to take part in the walk, stating that everyone at the Bank of Cyprus will continue to walk the Christodoula March together, as companions on a journey where no one should walk alone.
