A 39-year-old man from Paphos was hospitalised after being knocked off his motorcycle by a car which was being driven by a 35-year-old woman, the police said on Friday.

The incident occurred at around 12.15pm in the village of Yeroskipou, with the man suffering “serious” injuries to his head and right arm.

He was taken by ambulance to the Paphos general hospital, where he remains under observation, with his condition being described by doctors as “serious”, but “out of danger”.

The woman, meanwhile, was also taken to the Paphos general hospital. She received first aid and was then discharged.

The police have launched an investigation into the collision.
