COSMOS Insurance, in collaboration with the Municipality of Nicosia, presented on March 26, 2026 a new initiative aimed at the care and protection of our four-legged friends.

At the successful event held at the lower level of Eleftheria Square, the public was informed about the organised feeding stations for stray cats, which are now located at strategic points across the city.

Specifically, 21 feeders have been installed across all districts of the municipality, while two organised feeding areas have been created at the Pedieos River and Olympiades Park. At the same time, a controlled and clean feeding system has been designed and is being implemented with the valuable contribution of volunteers.

The event was attended by Maria Arkoudi, known for her animal welfare initiatives in Greece. She inspired the feeding stations and travelled to Cyprus to demonstrate their proper use. She was accompanied by children from Faneromeni Kindergarten, highlighting that love for animals should begin at an early age.

In his address, Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prountzos stressed the importance of sterilisation in the responsible management of the stray animal population. For his part, Kyriakos Tyllis, COSMOS Insurance CEO and Executive Member of the Board, stressed that our behavior towards animals is a measure of civilisation. Also as part of the event, Mayor Prountzos presented “Nicosia Pet Friendly”, a modern platform for information and awareness on animal welfare issues.

Through its tangible support in implementing organised feeding stations, COSMOS Insurance once again demonstrated it is a modern insurance company, which not only offers innovative products, such as the pet insurance program petCARE, but also remains committed to creating a world of harmonious coexistence between people and animals.
