Rainfall during the first week of April has already surpassed the average for the month, reaching 111 per cent of the usual precipitation.

The Meteorological Department said the total rainfall from April 1 till 9am on April 7 reached 33.2mm compared to the average 29.9mm.

Out of the 17 areas covered by the monthly update, only five did not surpass the 100 per cent of normal precipitation for April.

Regarding the past 24 hours, the department said rainfall averaged at 5.2mm, with Saittas recording 33.6mm where the average for the month is 47.8mm.

The most rainfall during the first week fell in Platania with 67.2mm, corresponding to 129 per cent of the usual rainfall for the whole month.

Saittas followed with 65.5mm or 137 per cent of the usual for April, Kellaki 56.2mm or 169 per cent, and Prodromos 48.6mm or 91 per cent of the usual for the whole month.
