The social security services have warned the public on Wednesday of fraudulent emails requesting beneficiaries to pay an alleged administrative fee of €10.

According to the social security services, the message informs beneficiaries of an alleged approval of a beneficiary payment, requesting bank details for the transfer of an administrative fee of €10.

The services emphasised that under no circumstances do they ask beneficiaries to pay fees for approvals and that any communication is send via emails ending with “@mlsi.gov.cy”.

Members of the public are urged not to open these messages, but to delete them immediately.
