For yet another year, the company turned technology into humanitarian aid, supporting the Disaster Management Service.
Lidl Cyprus has successfully completed its Easter social responsibility initiative, allocating a total of €50,000 to support the multifaceted work of the Cyprus Red Cross Society.
From Thursday, March 26, until Holy Saturday, April 11, 2026, Lidl Cyprus donated €0.15 for every scan of the Lidl Plus digital card. Thanks to the active participation and trust of its customers, a total of 308,712 scans were recorded, raising a final amount of €46,307. However, recognizing the vital importance of the Cyprus Red Cross’s mission, the company increased the donation to reach the total sum of €50,000.
The protagonist of this year’s campaign was Paralympic Swimming Champion and Lidl Cyprus Ambassador, Carolina Pelendritou. Through a spontaneous message, Carolina reminded everyone that even the smallest gesture – such as the “15 minutes” or the “15 cents” of the offer – can have enormous value for those in need.
The total donation will be allocated to support the Disaster Management Service of the Cyprus Red Cross. This service performs critical work, as it directly assists in providing assistance to fellow human beings affected by natural disasters or other emergencies. With consistency and a high sense of responsibility, Lidl Cyprus continues to walk down the path of giving, and transforming the every day shopping experience into a large chain of humanitarian support for the most vulnerable members of our society.
