As part of its commitment to supporting sport, but also its commitment to the values it represents, Coca-Cola Cyprus is joining forces with the Christos Stelios Ioannou Foundation this year, under the slogan “A Goal for Inclusivity”.
This collaboration focuses on informing and raising public awareness about the work of the Christos Stelios Ioannou Foundation — an organisation that since 1983 has been offering important services and programmes to adults with intellectual disabilities in the Nicosia district, contributing substantially to social inclusion and the creation of equal opportunities for all.
The Foundation’s choice as a partner is not accidental, but is based on its timeless and meaningful work, as well as its steadfast commitment to an inclusive society.
As part of this year’s initiative, participants from the Foundation will have the opportunity to take part in match‑day experiences, join awareness activations and share their stories with thousands of young athletes and spectators reached each season by the Coca‑Cola Cup.
“The Coca‑Cola Cup is much more than a football event, it is an institution that enables values with a real impact on society to be highlighted,” said Andreas Giortsios, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Manager at Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus.
“Through our collaboration with the Christos Stelios Ioannou Foundation, we are not only amplifying the message of inclusivity, but also creating meaningful opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities to participate, be seen, and be celebrated within one of the country’s most beloved sporting events. Together, we bring the idea of equal opportunities to life in a tangible way.”
Foundation Director Andreas Theodorou also hailed the joint effort. “The collaboration with Coca-Cola Cyprus is a special honour and an important opportunity to promote the Foundation’s work to a wider audience. Through this cooperation, a society that embraces diversity with respect and acceptance is promoted,” he said.
The Coca‑Cola Cup engages thousands of fans across Cyprus each year, making it one of the country’s largest platforms. Embedding the message of inclusivity within this tournament ensures widespread awareness and lasting social impact.
The slogan “A Goal for Inclusivity” in the Coca-Cola Cup was established in 2023 with the collaboration of Coca Cola HBC Cyprus with the Pancyprian Association for People with Autism, sending the message that the magic of football belongs to everyone.
In this initiative, the Cyprus Football Federation has always remained a valuable companion of Coca-Cola in Cyprus. The cooperation between them – the longest-lasting at European level – proves in practice how much can be achieved when forces come together for the good of sport and society.
