The Eureka Massalia Fashion Reborn project, bringing together students, volunteers, fashion industry professionals and organisations with a focus on sustainability, will culminate in a grand fashion show, to be held at the Old GSP on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. And we’ll all be there!
About the project
Eureka Massalias Fashion Reborn stands as a living testament to the idea that fashion can evolve into a vehicle for meaningful change. What began as a simple concept of reusing garments has developed into a multifaceted creative journey, bringing together individuals with a shared vision: sustainability.
Through the collaboration between Eureka Massalias, the Nicosia branch of the Cyprus Red Cross and Frederick University, a dynamic platform was created where education met social contribution and creativity.
The project timeline
The starting point was provided by volunteers of the Cyprus Red Cross, who collected and prepared garments that had completed their lifecycle. These pieces became the ‘canvas’ of the project.
Subsequently, in the workshops of Frederick University, Fashion Design students approached the garments with a fresh perspective, experimenting, deconstructing and redesigning them, transforming the old into contemporary pieces and the familiar into something new.
Particular value was added to the project through the participation of established designers, who not only created their own upcycled proposals but also acted as mentors to the students. This exchange of knowledge and experience built a meaningful bridge between the academic community and the professional world of fashion.
A fashion show that completes the journey
The culmination of this creative journey will be presented to the public through an impressive fashion show, showcasing the creations of Frederick University students, alongside those of acclaimed artists Anice (Anna Hadjigregoriou), Andreas Zannetides, Anna Michaelidou, Vasiliki Charitonos, Gregory Morfi, Lash Dolls (Giorgos Georgiou), Eva Kyriakou, Iliana Antoniadou, Leonie (Leoni Kleovoulou), Marina Nicolaidou, Maria Anaxagora, Maria Aristidou, Maria Neoptolemou, Menelaos Theodosiades, Natar Georgiou, Rafaella Argyrou and Sotiris Kazelis.
Artistic direction and coordination bear the signature of Yiota Koufalidou, who, with professionalism and creativity, has brought every detail to life.
Fashion show event details
The event will take place at the Old GSP on May 13, 2026, Wednesday, in a specially designed setting created to host this celebration of creativity and inspiration.
The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 6.30pm, followed by the fashion show at 7.30pm. Tickets are available for €25 via Ticketmaster.
