Columbia Group has appointed Andreas Hadjipetrou as its new Chief Executive Officer, with Demetris Chrysostomou named Deputy Chief Executive Officer, the company announced.

Hadjipetrou, a longstanding member of the organisation, has been with Columbia for nearly 30 years and most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer

The group said his appointment brings “deep operational knowledge, strong leadership and continuity” to the role, while Chrysostomou is expected to further strengthen Columbia’s leadership team and support its expanding presence in Asia

The company said the transition reflects its succession planning, as well as its focus on “stability, continuity and long-term growth”.

Both Hadjipetrou and Chrysostomou are recognised for their close relationships with clients, their commitment to people and their hands-on understanding of the business, Columbia added.

At the same time, the group said its seafarers and shore-based teams remain at the centre of its operations.

“Columbia group’s strength has always been built on its people, both ashore and at sea,” the company said, adding that their wellbeing, development and performance continue to be a key priority.

It also said clients remain central to its work, with a focus on delivering consistent, high-quality service.

“Guided by strong foundations, with service at our core and growth built on trust, the Group moves forward with confidence, clear direction and a shared commitment to long-term success,” Columbia said.

The company also thanked Mark O’Neil for his contribution during his tenure and wished him all the best for the future.
