Communications professional Larry Fergeson on Wednesday morning decided at the last minute not to stand in the forthcoming parliamentary elections.

He had been given a timeslot to register his candidacy in Nicosia by the interior ministry, and while he arrived at the registration centre on time, he ultimately elected not to run for election.

It is not yet clear whether he has endorsed another party or candidate.
