With the aim of improving road safety and fostering responsible driving behaviour, EKO is supporting an innovative experiential training programme aimed at young drivers doing their military service in the Cyprus National Guard.
The programme is based on modern training methodologies that enable participants to gain a practical understanding of the risks they face on the road every day through an immersive learning experience centred on observation, reflection, action and application.
Young motorists and motorcyclists are among the most vulnerable groups of road users, particularly during the first months after obtaining their driving licence. Through specially designed exercises conducted in a controlled environment, programme participants are challenged to manage realistic driving scenarios, gaining insight into how attention, reaction time and vehicle control are affected under different conditions.
The experiential training includes, among other activities, tests demonstrating the effects of driver distraction, comparative speed and reaction exercises, as well as simulations highlighting the impact of fatigue, alcohol consumption and drug use on driving behaviour.

The programme was implemented with great success over the two-day period of June 3–4, 2026, in collaboration with the Traffic Department of the Cyprus Police. The training experience concluded with discussion and reflection sessions, enhancing participants’ understanding of road safety risks while fostering personal responsibility and conscious decision-making behind the wheel.
EKO reaffirms its longstanding commitment to promoting road safety through initiatives that contribute to public awareness, education and protection. In this context, the company continues to invest in programmes that strengthen prevention, cultivate a stronger culture of responsible driving and contribute to creating safer roads for all.
