Monday will be mainly clear and hot, with temperatures reaching 39C inland, although a brief isolated shower cannot be ruled out over the mountains during the afternoon.

Localised increased cloud is expected during the afternoon, mainly over higher ground, where it may bring a short isolated shower.

Winds will blow mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, later strengthening locally to 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slight to moderate.

Temperatures will rise to 39C inland, around 32C on the southwest and west coasts, around 35C on the remaining coasts and 29C in the higher mountains.

Monday night will remain mainly clear. Winds will be mainly northwesterly to northerly, light and temporarily locally moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, while the sea will be calm to slight.

Temperatures will fall to 22C inland, around 24C on the south and east coasts, around 23C on the west and north coasts and 20C in the higher mountains.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will remain mainly clear, though temporarily increased afternoon cloud could bring isolated showers over the mountains.

Temperatures are not expected to change significantly during the three-day period and will remain slightly above the seasonal average.
