Dozens of schoolbags, pencil cases, stationery, books, fairytales and educational toys have been collected to cover the basic needs of vulnerable children and families across Cyprus, through a campaign run by Eurobank Limited and the Cyprus Volunteerism Coordinative Council.

Eurobank said in a press release on Monday that the ‘All children with school supplies’ campaign aimed to send children to school in September with a full schoolbag, including children attending schools in Rizokarpaso and Kormakitis, in the occupied north.

In the context of the campaign, Eurobank also donated desks, bookshelves, chairs, computers and other technical equipment in excellent condition.

The school supplies and equipment were delivered to the council’s chairman Elias Demetriou to be distributed to vulnerable families by the council itself as well as volunteers and NGOs.

Demetriou said every item gathered held “a message of love and hope, because when we support a child today, we are building a brighter future for everyone”.

Eurobank said its participation in such events aimed at contributing substantively to creating equal opportunities for all children, promoting volunteerism and social solidarity, and investing in a future with more opportunities, hope and prospects.
