Police officers arrested 10 people during nationwide checks overnight, the force said on Thursday.

The arrests involved offences including burglary, theft, assault, living in Cyprus without the requisite residence documents, traffic offences and outstanding court fines.

Of the traffic citations issued, 109 concerned speeding and seven involved drink driving. Three drivers tested positive for drugs following preliminary checks.
