Eight people were arrested for offences including possession of drugs, illegal residence, burglary and theft, in the framework of overnight police operations to crack down on crime.

The police also pulled over 545 vehicles and checked 756 drivers and passengers.

A total of 266 reports were filed, of which 82 for speeding and five for drink driving, and 19 vehicles were impounded.

The police also raided 35 establishments and filed one report.
