Man arrested on suspicion of theft

A German national living in Paphos was under investigation on Friday after police found a number of silver and gold valuables and silver coins from other countries at his apartment.

Police also found eight computers, four mobile phones and a number of boxes containing a total of €6,000 in cash, and other items at the home of the 33-year-old. They said the German man could not give a satisfactory explanation for the origin of the items.

He had been arrested on Thursday after wandering around in a drunken stupor in the tourist area of Kato Paphos, disturbing the peace and refusing to identify himself, police said.
