Highway driver stopped at twice the speed limit

A 24-year-old driver was spotted on the Larnaca-Kofinou highway on Sunday driving at 207 km/hr, twice the speed limit.

According to police at 10.45 on Sunday morning, a traffic police patrol recorded the driver on the highway.

The driver was arrested for speeding and was taken to a nearby police station where he was charged in writing and released.

He is expected to appear before Larnaca district court on Monday.
