Coronavirus: 8,110 checks, 123 booked

Police carried out a record 8,110 checks from Sunday until Monday in an effort to catch persons violating coronavirus measures.

119 individuals and four premises were booked as a result. Most violations concerned the non-use of protective masks indoors and outdoors and movements after curfew hours.

In Nicosia, 3,516 checks were conducted, in Limassol 2,218, in Larnaca 752, in Paphos 801, in Famagusta 550 and in Morphou 259.

37 individuals were fined in Nicosia, 31 in Limassol, 15 in Larnaca, 23 in Paphos, 10 in Famagusta and three in the Morphou district.
