The health ministry announced one death and 339 new cases of people testing positive for Covid-19 on Sunday from both PCR and rapid testing totalling 8,778.
The death concerned a 75-year-old man with underlying conditions who died at Limassol hospital after being transferred from a nursing home.
This bring the total deaths to 148 of which 99 were men and 29 women with an average age of 80.
There are 208 people in hospitals of whom 55 are in serious condition and 32 of whom are intubated.
The 339 new cases brings the total of those who have tested positive since March to 27,350.
Of the tests done, 1,607were PCR and 7,171 rapid tests, of which 170 people tested positive.
From the PCR tests, 118 positives were detected from contact tracing of 562 people who had contact with a confirmed case.
33 positives were found among 473 people who tested on their own initiative.
15 people were found positive from 319 people tested by hospital labs.
Only 1 positive case was found from 234 private GP referrals.
Two cases were found from testing 19 people in the Cyprus Basketball Federation and the Cyprus Volleyball Federation.
