Man, 32, injured in work accident dies

A 32-year-old man who was injured in a work accident in Paralimni on January 6 died late Saturday at the Nicosia general hospital ICU, it was reported on Sunday.

The foreign man, whose nationality has not been released, died after undergoing surgery for a serious head injury but a post-mortem will be carried out on Tuesday to establish the exact cause of death.

The man, painter at a construction site, was rushed to Famagusta general hospital early on Wednesday after he was injured during work at a house that is under construction.

Due to condition, he was intubated and taken to Nicosia where the surgery was carried out the same day. He was placed in ICU on a ventilator but died Saturday night.
