When it comes to Valentine’s Day, a lot of people forgo the effort in favour of an easy takeaway meal in front of the TV, but with 2020 being such an awful year for so many people, why not make Valentine’s Day 2021 extra special! If you’re not sure where to start, don’t worry, we’re here to help. Here is our ultimate guide to spending valentine’s day.

Breakfast In Bed

When it comes to starting Valentine’s Day off right, nothing is better than breakfast in bed for your significant other. Whether its pancakes or just some toast and a cup of coffee, having it made and then brought up will make the world of difference. Get up half an hour earlier to make sure that you have enough time to put the finishing touches on.

Plan The Day

Once you’ve got breakfast out of the way and cleaned up after yourself, you want to make sure that you have something to do during the day. Whether it is catching an early showing at the cinema, or going to a wine tasting event, make sure that you have the day covered. You don’t want to leave too early after breakfast though, you want to make sure that you have time to get ready and look your best for going out.

Lockdown Days

If you are in the situation where you are locked down and can’t make the most of being outside, then why not do something different at home? This could involve board games that you don’t normally play or even watching movies and getting the popcorn out. If you do want an opportunity to get up and get dressed, then why not organise going for a walk together? You won’t be able to travel too far from your home but make the most of your day together and get out for some fresh air.

Cook A New Recipe Together

Once you have come back from your walk or your afternoon out, why not try out a new recipe together? You could cook up some dim sum, or you could try other favourite snacks. Whatever you chose to cook, you can do it together and make sure that you both enjoy the experience.

Presents

You will have wanted to get presents before the big day and there is no better time to share them once you’ve had a snack, been in from your walk and you’re back settling down on your sofa for an afternoon and evening of awful movies and food. Run Them A Bath

If you have a bath, then why not run your significant other one? Especially if you have bought them a gift they can use. Nothing says sensual and romantic quite like having your partner draw you a bath. Go all out when you do it, we’re talking petals, candles, bubbles the works! Let them know that they can spend as much time as they want in there without fear of being interrupted and whilst they have a well-earned soak, you can begin sorting dinner.

Dinner

No one likes the idea of washing up, especially not on a day when you should be spending time with one another. One of the best things to come out of lockdown is the rise of services such as Deliveroo and uber eats, which gives you the option to have your favourite restaurant delivered to your door. When your partner is in the bath, get the living room ready, give it a clean and make sure that the plates are ready to go. When you think they are about halfway done, order their favourite dish. By the time they are done with their bath and in their lounge wear, the dinner will be on the way!

Settling In

Once your partner is out of the bath and in their lounge wear, it’s time to settle down to a film and eat your food. Hopefully you’ve got the order correct so you can now decide on what to watch for the evening!

Wrap Up

When it comes to getting Valentine’s Day right, a little bit of planning and forward thought never hurt anyone. You want to make sure that you have a present lined up first and foremost! Don’t just run into the gas station and grab flowers, make sure you have thought it out and wrapped it well. Even if you are in lockdown, don’t worry, there are things that you can do to make sure that your day is extra special. From breakfast in bed through to cooking your favourite snacks together. There is something you can do to involve the pair of you!
