Cyprus takes part in joint military exercise (pics)

A joint military exercise of special forces personnel from Greece, the USA and Cyprus took place between January 11 and January 29 in the Souda area of Crete, it was announced on Tuesday.

The exercise aimed to improve coordination, understanding and interoperability between the participating forces.

The drill was also designed to improve the operational capabilities of personnel and allow the exchange of expertise between them.

The exercise was designed by the Hellenic National Defence General Staff and coordinated by the Hellenic Joint Special Operations Command.

Cyprus was represented by a unit of the underwater demolition teams.
