Archbishop Chrysostomos on Tuesday reportedly gave statements to the police regarding a case in which a woman alleged that she was raped by a senior priest.

The issue was reported by both state broadcaster CyBC and daily Politis, while the latter said that the woman brought the Archbishop’s attention to the case back in 2011.

It is alleged that the church took no measures against the priest.
