In this video, we journey to Oregon, to pay a pre-Covid visit to Portland, its friendly capital of cool.

Foodies and hipsters rub shoulders here, in a city dedicated to green values and offbeat self-expression.

Lovers of gastronomy will delight in the great food, courtesy of Portland’s proximity to the fertile Willamette Valley and Pacific Ocean, and its abundance of coffee shops, craft beer, food trucks and fine dining.

Nature aficionados, meanwhile, will appreciate the sprawl of parks, trees, and flowers along residential streets, with the Willamette River winding through town, and Mount Hood commanding the horizon.

Finally, given Portlanders’ progressive sensibilities, local culture welcomes the curious and off-kilter. Not for nothing do you see the slogan ‘Keep Portland Weird’ emblazoned on bumper stickers, murals and signs everywhere you go, in a city that proudly celebrates individuality and creativity.
