The health ministry announced 302 new cases of Covid-19 and no deaths on Monday.

As no new deaths were recorded, total deaths remain at 231, of whom 154 were men and 77 women with an average age of 79.

There are 76 people in hospitals, 34 of whom are in serious condition. Of the 24 patients who are critical, 12 are intubated, two are in ICU and 10 in the High Dependency Unit.

A total of 38,001 tests were carried out by means of PCR and rapid tests with 302 new cases, and a positivity rate of 0.79 per cent.

The total number of positives to date is 35,009.

Of the 38,001 tests 2,583 were PCR and 35,418 rapid tests. The majority, 193 of the 302 positives came through rapid testing while 88 came from 580 samples taken through contact tracing, and ten cases from 510 samples taken through private initiative.

Four cases came from 354 samples processed by hospital labs, and 239 samples taken through GP referrals yielded three positives.

In addition, 900 samples were taken at airports with four positives.

Thirty-five cases were detected in Nicosia, 112 in Limassol, 21 in Larnaca, three in Paphos and 12 in Famagusta.
