The Nicosia tourism board (Etap) announced on Friday that works would start within the month for the creation of a nature trail between Pigainia and Mosfili villages in the Tylliria area.

According to the board, which is sponsoring the project, the nature trail will start from Kremos tou Sahana in Pigainia and end in Mosfili but also includes the church of Ayia Marina.

Creating the nature trail was at the request of the two community councils, which argued that it was a way to enrich the tourist product in the area but at the same time maintain its environmental character and natural beauty.

“This is a project that is part of the action plan of Etap, proving in practice our interest and commitment to the tourism development of the wider area,” Etap chairman Theodoros Kriggou said.

The project is aimed at attracting more visitors to the two remote Tylliria villages.

Works are expected to start within March and completed by May.
