Police broke up yet another birthday party in Limassol late on Wednesday, issuing fines to 13 people.

The event was located shortly before midnight Wednesday at a house, police said.

Officers found 13 people gathered at the home and issued them with a €300 fine each.

Limassol has consistently recorded a higher number of daily infections compared with the rest of Cyprus, prompting police to step up patrols in the district.

It was the second birthday party raided by police in a week while a restaurant has also been caught serving customers.
