Coronavirus: what people can and can’t do on Green Monday

Playgrounds are off limits

The health ministry on Sunday clarified for the public what they can and cannot do on Green Monday outings.

An exception has been made for the Lenten holiday ahead of new changes coming into effect on Tuesday but the 9pm curfew that will be be moved to 11pm from Tuesday night, still applies to those on Monday outings.

What is allowed is access to public meeting places , specifically reservoirs, parks, linear parks, squares, and forestry department nature trails and picnic areas.

The maximum number of people who can gather is six per group plus their children. However access to any playgrounds located within the specified areas is not allowed, the ministry said

For purposes of going to any of the allowed areas, people must send a text message to 8998 and select the number 6 .

Access to the specific areas will be allowed only until 8.30pm.
People should follow all of the usual precautions such as distancing, the ministry said.
