Elliot Page opens up in first interview since coming out as trans

In this video, we catch up with Canadian actor Elliot Page, who came out as transgender last December.

Transgender, or trans people are individuals whose gender identity differs from the gender they were assigned at birth.

Page appears on the cover of the latest issue of TIME magazine – the first trans person to be so featured – and shares that, growing up: “I felt like a boy … I wanted to be a boy. I would ask my mom if I could be some day.”

He also explains his reasons for choosing his name (clue: something to do with a famous Steven Spielberg movie…).
