The vaccinations portal will open on Monday morning for people with diabetes and severe obesity, regardless of age, the health ministry said on Sunday.

In total 19,246 appointments are available.

The vaccination portal will be open between 8 am Monday and 7 pm Thursday.

Priority will be given to people with diabetes type I and type II who take insulin and to people with diabetes suffering from macrovascular and/or microvascular complications such as coronary artery disease, peripheral angiopathy, chronic kidney disease, stroke history, carotid artery disease and retinopathy.

Eligible are also people with severe obesity whose BMI is over 40, or whose BMI is over 35 and suffer from metabolic syndrome.

Appointments can be made by people in these groups regardless of age, the ministry said.

The vaccination portal will confirm these people are eligible based on the data kept in the Gesy software system. These data must be registered in the system by each person’s physician. People are not required to present any confirmation from their doctors.

People not registered with Gesy or who are not beneficiaries who are among these groups will need to express interest to be vaccinated after confirmation from their physician and by sending an email including their ID number or another identification document number, telephone number, and specify which priority group they belong in: diabetes or severe obesity.

They may send the email to [email protected]
