Coronavirus: fully vaccinated people do not need to isolate even if close contract of a positive

The health ministry said that starting from Wednesday, people who completed their vaccination by receiving both Covid-19 jabs do not have to self-isolate for 14 days should they be found to be a close contact of a positive case.

A prerequisite, however, is that 14 days must be completed since their second dose of the vaccine.

Moreover, people who caught the virus within the last six months and made a full recovery are also not required to self-isolate should they become contacts of a positive case.

The health ministry reminded that in both cases, a PCR test needs to be carried out and will be scheduled by the government as per usual for contacts of positive cases.

Police officers will be entitled to ask people exempt from self-isolation for vaccination certificates.
