A bun sliced in two, a juicy hot dog in the middle drizzled with ketchup, mustard and a whole menu of sides. At fairs, carnivals, markets and bazaars, hot dogs are a staple option yet there haven’t been any of those events in almost a year. Though it’s an easy dish to prepare at home, it certainly is a different experience biting into it at an event with a pint of beer and music in the background. One upcoming festivity this week all about hot dogs will bring back this vibe.

Hot Dog Day at the Home Café of the Home for Cooperation on Saturday will serve up different kinds of hot dogs – vegan and meaty – along with groovy global tunes by Dj Koulla P. Katsikoronou. On the menu are cheesy hot dogs, chicken sausages, vegan sausages, tropical flavours and sweet dessert ‘dogs’, all served in a brioche bun.

The full menu was recently uploaded on the Home Café’s Facebook page where you can browse the options and pre-book your seat. Food will be served from 11am until 5pm at the café’s outdoor area.
