×ÅÉÑÏÐÅÄÅÓ

A 49-year-old Bulgarian national was arrested in Paphos on Wednesday for robbery and theft committed in Bulgaria back in June 2015.

A European arrest warrant was issued by Bulgarian authorities against the man, who will now have to serve a five-year prison sentence in his country.

The police issued a statement on Thursday praising the cooperation between the local authorities and Interpol that led to the arrest of the man, who is now in custody in Paphos and awaiting the process for his extradition to Bulgaria.
