Coronavirus: Seven businesses fined for breaking protocols

Seven businesses and 172 people were booked between 6am Friday and 6am Saturday for violating the measures against the spread of coronavirus, police said.

In total 11,335 checks were carried out in all districts.

Twenty-five people and one business were booked in Nicosia and in Limassol 67 people and one business.

In Larnaca 29 individuals were booked and in the Paphos district, 29 people and four businesses.

One business and 27 people were booked in Famagusta and another two people were fined in the Morphou area.

Two more people were booked during traffic checks.

Most fines on businesses concerned violations to coronavirus protocols, such as serving customers indoors, the non-use of masks by staff, and closing past curfew.
