Trinkets and tiaras: how historically accurate are ‘Bridgerton’ costumes?

Enjoying the refined Regency era misadventures of ‘Bridgerton’? You’re not alone… season one of the hit Netflix series was apparently viewed by a record 82 million households around the world.

But just how accurately portrayed is its sumptuous world of aristocratic scandal and seduction?

In this video, fashion historian Raissa Bretaña fact-checks the historical accuracy of the costumes of ‘Bridgerton’, paying particular attention to the attire of main characters Daphne, Simon (Duke of Hastings), Penelope and, of course, Queen Charlotte.
