Tsoureki: how to make braided Greek Easter bread

As the island marks Good Friday, in this video, we learn a recipe for traditional braided Easter bread: tsoureki.

Tsoureki is a Greek paschal bread made from a sweet yeast dough of flour, sugar, butter and milk. The dough is brushed with egg wash before being baked, and flavoured with mahlep, mastic resin and orange zest. Sometimes, dyed red Easter eggs are also pressed into the dough. It is also decorated with almond slivers.

Variations of tsoureki also exist in Armenian and Turkish cuisine.
