Ellen DeGeneres announces show will end in 2022

Ellen DeGeneres has revealed she’ll be ending her daytime talk show in 2022 after 19 seasons. The TV personality shared the news in an article published by ‘The Hollywood Reporter’.

“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged – and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” DeGeneres said.

The past year has been a challenging one for the celeb, and her brand’s ‘Be Kind’ motto. After a series of personal swipes that DeGeneres says “destroyed” her, came allegations of a toxic workplace, prompting an internal investigation and dismissal of key executives.

In response, the TV host opened season 18 in September with a lengthy apology, telling viewers, “I learned that things happen here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously. And I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected.”
