minute

Where do you live and with whom?
I live in the lovely city of Larnaca with my gorgeous sons. My eldest is currently studying in London and comes whenever possible.

What did you have for breakfast?
Coffee!! I’m not much of a morning eater so fresh filter coffee is the perfect start to my day. Mid-morning I’ll have a smoothie or grab a banana on my way out of the door!

Describe your perfect day
A day full of LIVE MUSIC!! A sunny day attending a concert or festival with family and friends is the most amazing feeling. Meeting before the event, the build-up and the excitement leading up to the show really fires me up and the natural adrenaline rush is so uplifting and euphoric. Music is definitely the closest thing to magic!

Best book ever read?
Choosing one book is difficult! I love reading biographies especially music related ones. I recently read The Dirt by Motley Crue which is title descriptive and a great read. However, a book that has stuck in my mind is Orion by Gail Brewer Giorgio. It’s the novel that gave life and speculation to whether Elvis is alive. It’s the journey of a young man who becomes one of the most famous individuals in the world.

Best childhood memory?
I think the best childhood memory that I can remember clearly is meeting John Travolta. After seeing the iconic musical Grease, which was a real life changer for me, it spurred me on to meet the great actor. He was pleasant, humble and truly lovely.

What is always in your fridge?
Hmmm….champagne and cheese…..I love them both!!

What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
I drive two cars so will mention two…. Cam Cole is a New Age Blues Rock musician who really amazed me when I saw him first on social media busking on the streets of London. Since then, I’ve been hooked. Dirty Honey – These American rockers are going to be HUGE! Since discovering them last year during Lockdown, I can’t stop listening to their music.

What’s your spirit animal?
Hmmmm… I haven’t thought about it really… but maybe an Eagle… strong and full of spirit because I like to fly (travel) a lot!

What are you most proud of?
Definitely my sons and my positive attitude in life. After all, ‘This life is what you make it, so keep your head high, keep your chin up and most importantly KEEP SMILING because life is a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about’. M.Monroe

What movie scene has really stayed with you?
One of the movie scenes that sticks in my mind is from Forrest Gump at the bus stop when he says, ‘Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get’. That phrase is so true!

If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
I’m going to choose someone alive and someone dead… Most that know me, know that I will choose Jon Bon Jovi. He has been my hero for over 30 years and I have seen him perform a lot!! His music introduced me to rock music and opened the doors to a much wider range of rock, classic and modern. From Rock Star to Humanitarian, he continues to share himself with the world and an evening with him would be a dream come true! ‘Its My Life’ is probably my life’s anthem. Someone departed is definitely Jim Morrison – the poet, songwriter, dreamer, singer of The Doors – now that would be a deep, mystical, fun and amazing evening!!

If you could time travel when/where would you go?
I would love to go back to August 1969 and be at Woodstock and see all the amazing musicians and bands perform. I would love to have been there and be part of this iconic peace and music festival and wear flowers in my hair!!

What is your greatest fear?
Losing my loved ones and not being able to see them again scares me and ….cockroaches!!

What would you say to your 18-year-old self?
Study Media at University because I believe that’s the route I should have followed. Maybe I should have been a runner in a studio, those who did always went on to get dream jobs! Also to travel more and see the world before settling down.

Name the one thing that would stop you dating someone
Someone who doesn’t respect others, has no sense of humour and bad hygiene!

If the world is ending in 24 hours what would you do?
Get all ‘my people’ together in one room and eat, drink and dance, dance, dance!!
