Coronavirus: 46 fined for violating measures

Forty-six people and two businesses have been fined over the past 24 hours for violating measures to limit the spread of coronavirus.

Police said that from 6 am on Friday until 6 am on Saturday 5,595 checks had been carried out islandwide.

In Nicosia, 1,392 inspections were carried out and four people reported. In Limassol, 1,371 inspections were carried out and 11 people reported. In Larnaca, 500 inspections were carried out and four people reported. Iin Paphos, 16 people and two business owners were fined after 700 checks. In Famagusta 746 checks were carried out with six people being fined. No fines were issued in Morphou where 472 police checks were carried out.

Traffic police fined five people out of 337 checks.
