How two special-needs lambs became fast friends after rescue

Every pet deserves a loving and respectful home: please only consider acquiring a pet if you will be able to take care of its long-term needs. Also, consider choosing your animal companion from a shelter, where there are so many wonderful furry friends who need a forever home.

In this video we meet Squid and Otto – two special-needs lambs whose health challenges spared them from slaughter for meat. Otto was born with neurological problems and couldn’t eat on his own; Squid sustained permanent damage from a broken leg.

But instead of a cruel end, fate intervened. Upon rescue, today at Farm Sanctuary, these two resilient lambs have become fast friends. Squid – who now gets around with a custom wheeled cart – is even helping Otto learn how to eat. They are better together, and even have a pair name – Squotto!
