Two more arrested for assisting illegal entry

Police on Saturday arrested two more people, 38 and 36, on suspicion of assisting two third-country nationals enter the country illegally.

Two men, aged 52 and 45, are already in police custody for the same case.

According to the police, the two men were found driving last Saturday in Larnaca along with two other persons, 44 and 35, who were in the country illegally. The latter two were transferred to a reception centre.

The four men made some claims to the police which are under investigation.

Meanwhile, additional evidence emerged during investigations against the two men in their 30s and officers arrested them early on Saturday, police said.
