The customs department seized over nine kilos of cannabis and confiscated around 67,000 cigarettes across Cyprus in May.

On top of that, it also seized 893 cigars, almost 29 kilos of loose tobacco, 8,690 tobacco sticks and 743 items which violate intellectual property rights such as clothing, footwear, bags, wallets, sunglasses and perfumes.

Moreover, the customs department also confiscated a total of 16 vehicles as well as various items subject to restrictions such as protective masks, medicines, dairy products, seeds, counterfeit electronic devices, toys, headphones, welding machines, wigs, medical equipment, electronic cigarettes, and liquid and components for electronic cigarettes.

Most of the cases were settled out of court, the customs department added.
