Coronavirus: no deaths, 33 cases on Sunday (Updated)

Thirty-three new coronavirus cases were announced on Sunday by the health ministry.

No deaths were announced.

There are 32 patients with Covid-19 in state hospitals, 12 of whom in serious condition. Eight patients are intubated.

The new cases were among 43,151 PCR and rapid tests, with a positivity rate of 0.08 per cent.

Three cases were detected through contact tracing, six people were found positive after getting tested privately and two cases were among passengers who got tested upon their arrival at the Larnaca and Paphos airports.

Another 22 cases were among the rapid tests carried out in all districts on behalf of the health ministry. Eleven of these cases were found in the Nicosia district (0.08 per cent), seven in Limassol (0.07 per cent), three in Paphos (0.07 per cent), and one in the Famagusta district (0.04 per cent). No cases were detected in Larnaca.

The total number of cases so far is 73,190.
