Police, members of the coastguard and the rapid response unit (MMAD), donned their diving suits to clean up the seabed at two Protaras beaches.

The rubbish collected was disposed of in cooperation with local authorities.

The dive was held on Friday near MMAD’s Evagoras training centre in the Kapparis area near Paralimni. It coincided with the annual lifesaving and diving training for MMAD members carried out at the Evagoras training centre from June 7 to 11.

Taking part were 10 MMAD scuba divers, under the guidance of three instructors, members of the coastguard.
